The Soundblaster Extigy runs off 12V, and will operate as a standalone surround processor without a computer.
Is there anyway to integrate a CE NET controller into your CarPC? I have a Clarion DPH7500z from my previous set-up that would be perfect for my new set-up, except it only accepts CE NET to control it. It has 4 Digital inputs.

Here is something I toyed with the idea about. Pro Audio meets the car and carputer. You can change the settings and download via RS232. The only problem you have to get around is the AC voltage input. I contacted Behringer about a possible DC-DC power supply and they refered me to a DIYer who was making a DC-DC power supply to replace the AC power supply.
$250 from parts express or musicians friend. There is also one made by dbx that is similar but costs more.

Anyone else thought of this? Bumps you into the highest SQ competion group though in almost every org for all those car audio competitors out there.
people have been adapting the DBX drive racks for ages.
A good friend of mine used one last year in the expert class.
they modified the PSU to be 12v.
Works quite well, just requires a good deal of space and some knowhow.
