There's also a Firewire version of Behringer UCA202. Looks as though quite a different desing:

Yeah, the lack of much of anything jacks wise isn't that great, though I know for me it's no an issue since all I use is 1 line out.

What I find interesting is the X-fi 24bit Crystalizer which is suposed to using some sort of algorithms return a compressed MP3 back to not even CD quality but to studio quality, sounds far fetched but the review I have seen so far said it does an excelent job at it and the difference is noticable, also the X-fi CMSS 3D for simulated surround is nice too, I have that on my Audigy 2 on my home PC and I really like and would love to have it in my car.

I find the X-fi piece advertising interesting. How does one make a studio recorded sound sound better than the original, and more "real" as they put it? Reminds me of Alpine's mediaxpander. or better yet, MP3pro...that really took off. The X-fi designer must have sat in on all the live performances and made note of how it "should" sound so he could later design that piece.

Hell, we should be able to make pond water better than the first original drop of water ever. Giddy Up!

Do you know if anyone makes a car amp with balanced input?
i just found out; at least on the older xtant amp models...the one i had in my last install, that they have balanced inputs with a floating ground. so you can use the rca inputs for -/+ signal and ignore the ground. so..there is another option for you. that amp was amazing and with the addition of the balanced inputs you would have a really nice setup with little noise

Older soundstreams have balanced inputs as well. You would have to get the special cable or make your own...but for SQ the XTANTs sound better. Just another option...

This may sound odd but my Hifonics BX1500D has balanced inputs, and while looking at the manual so does all the other D-class amps for that year.
My A/B from them doesn't though and that would make a little more sense to me as they are more used for full range/highs. Either way, they are cheap to find amps and may have the option on current models. You just need some special connector for it.

If KX project supports it, that would be my answer. I don't know if it does, or if they are working on it.

It has 8 channel output. Configurable in any way we want..

ActiveXover, EQ, delay, effects etc all in digital domain... infinitly reconfigurable....
Looks like this product is shipping as of yesterday, it seems very tempting. Just by looking at the spec sheet, any opinions on a possible downfall of the card?.. Still says "Pre-order Special: Order in advance for FREE shipping!" but the order page no longer says pre-order and they quoted an October release.

I personally am only looking for 2.1 and might just utilize passthrough for it (ED amps), this looks to have more than enough options and 5 volt pre-outs would be extra nice!.... Any additional thoughts?

If it had more outputs, I'd be all over it.

Hell, I'm thinking about buying one anyways, for the home PC.

How many outputs are you looking for?
And then after that part what are you using them all for?... Active configurations?
I can't see exactly how many outputs this has but being that it is 7.1 I would think roughly 8. (I may be wrong)

Ok I take that back (I was thinking of receivers) but how many outputs does it actually have?
