    very strange power problem

Hi, I have a very strange problem with my power...

i have 2 amps connected and 1 pc.
as soon as an amp of pc use power, my power drops to 3 volts, making my system shut down.
today i took everything out of the car, and reinstald it, and I played again, for about 5 minutes... then the same thing happenend...
the same install played very well in my previous car, exactly the same way as it is now...

anyone gat any idea why this happens?

Your wiring does not support the amount of power you are drawing or is not installed correctly.

What guage wiring are you using? How is it wired? Obviously this is a power problem, yet no details to how your wired it...

Common distro, all seperate to battery, what? Also you dont have your PC specs in your name, so what are you trying to power? See the recurring theme?

What gauge wires do you use to power the PC? Do those wires run from the battery? How much current does your system draw (PC, amps, etc..)

Damn, 3 replies w/ the same comments in 2 min. This forum rocks. Too bad I was the slowest one.

I didn't share to many details because my english isn't that good, but hey, i'll give it a try.

my cables do support the amount of power i'm drawing, since it used to work perfect in my other car (and nothing changed about my instal)
my main cable is 16mm˛, and splits up to 2 cables from 10mm˛ going to the amps, and 1 cable from 4mm˛ going to my pc.
my pc has a VIA Epia-MII12000 mobo, a opus 150W DC-DC PSU, 1 gig ddr, 120Gb hard disk (that's the only thing that's changed, my previous one was 80Gb)
one amp is 4*60watt, the other 2*200watt...

one wire (16mm˛) runs from battery to trunk, and splits up there.
i have a fuse from 60A near my battery, and fuses from 40A for amp 1, 20A for amp 2, and 15A for PSU.
those 3 fuses are in my trunk, where my main power cable splits...

make sure you have a GOOD ground. paint must be scraped off and all. Check all your power connections to make sure they are tight. make sure you don't have a bad fuse.

I think I have a good ground (exact same voltage in my trunk as on my battery)

all cables are double checked, all connected very tight, all fuses are also checked... bought some spare ones today, will check them tomorrow...

yes but sometimes when something actually tries to pull any current and you have a bad ground, that is when it will show up. Maybe I don't understand what your problem is. One of your amplifiers won't turn on? Or when your amp turns on, everything connected to the power wire is at 3V and not 12V including the PC?

when my amp or my pc turns on everything on the power wire drops to 3 volt, making my pc to shutdown...
at first this happened immediatly, but this evening I reinstald everything, and was able to play 5 minutes... then I put the volume a little higher, and my pc fell out again...
