Just a heads up, careful what you say, I don't wanna see any body on here that is a respectable membor getting kicked off, cause infractions are being handed out... I got one for the other thread for calling someone a part of the body part that ironically that person used the same body part in one of his posts today...

Haven't laughed so much for a while,
    thanks guys.

When you consider a driver is going to have orders of magnitude total harmonic distortion, and operated at 90 plus dB at 1 metre, continuously, power compression becomes a major factor. When I see tests at these levels I might pay attention.

Until then, I suggest it is purely a matter of opinion which distortion is more /less pleasing dealing with a noise floor of 70 dB plus. (Average noise floor advertised by BMW and Mercedes Benz etc for their luxury models)

I've actually recently upgraded to 512MB. World of difference.

    Megalo,

Did you purchase these online? If so, can you link me.

I'm used to the bright highs the MBQ's gave me with the titanium tweeter. You mentioned you don't like bright highs and even the rep at my local shop said the HSK's are much softer.

I listen to everything...rock, rap, dance, metal. The MBQ's sounded incredible listening to techno, but were a bit bright on rock and metal and a little shallow in the midbass. How do you rate these speakers in terms of range?

One thing i do want to say is this... everyone chooses their own level of involvement, and has differnet tastes.

there is no clear cut "best" speaker, this is why if you truly know what you're talking about you won't say that one is the best, you will tell who ever you are talking to to go out and listen to speakers to develop their own opinion.

Some people think that their coax's sound amazing, and if they think that they're the best thing in the world... great, thats great for them, cause they're happy. Luckily this also comes at a lower price tag.

Not everyone wants (/can afford) to spend a rediculas amount of money on speakers, and they realize what is good enough for them...

Most of the speakers on here are out of my price range, and not saying that they're out of others, but people should take that into account. To say that someone elses speakers are crap, and that they should get model X speakers, isn't really fair cause its not always about sound to everyone, buget comes into affect for many people on here, myself included...

Edit: Focal, how did you get a 1900 on your SAT's? Is that the new crazy 3 part out of 2400 or something grading system? Cause when I took it, as well as most people, it was out of 1600, 800 on math, and 800 on english(or whatever they called it). Not to mention the score isn't the important part, the percentile is, cause not all SAT's are the same, some are easier then others, so many schools look at the percentiles to see how you did next to everyone else.

On wikipedia it says there is a 1600 and 2400 grading system.

Focal , you're not impressing anyone, you're just making a fool out of yourself.

& oh yeh, I remembered it as german, but I guess it's italian, but the hertz space 8's are an increadable driver, especially for a street car that's going to be playing tunes while driving on the highway or on the street, where the noise floor is going to be high.

they do amazing things for the whole system, including excellent bass reinforcement totally elimanating any kind of bass localization... & they sound increadable... this info isn't added for you to debate, but rather maybe a bit of useful info for the normal people reading this thread

blaze: the tweets are smooth and not bright, you can easily listen to Tool or System of a Down without the distortion of the guitars making your ears bleed. The mids are very warm & rich. I enjoy them very well. Actually Ray dropped his Focal line to use Hertz...so that does say a bit about Hertz.

I'll get you Rays number at Audio Innovations by tomarro. I'm using my phone to post right now lol.

btw I hope it doesn't sound like I'm hanging on Hertz nuts, I sincerely do like these comps.
