Check the fuse in the dash board aswell as the HU fuse just a guees never heard of the car type sorry
I have a 98 mercury mistiqe.
Today, i had a friend come over, and we installed new speakers in my car. We had a little bit of trouble on the last speaker, the wire kept sliding off and on the positive bar. During this, the head unit kept going off and on. We finally got it on, and everything back on the car. 10 minutes later, the head unit shuts off. All the wires in the back of the head unit are connected. Then i noticed, my dash lights and the clock arnt working.
Does anybody know what could cause this? We checked the fuse for the radio, and it was ok.
Thanks in advance

check all the fuses, cig lighter, interior elect., audio, hell even the ones under the hood. i got my radio stolen a few years back and it shorted something, none of my dash lights worked and my rear parking lights didn't work, everything pretty much wasn't lighting up, ended up being my rear-left brake light fuse...very random, but check all the fuses
It was a fuse that did somthing to my door. I checked them all, found that one blew, replaced it, and success. Most random thing ive ever seen.
Thanks all
yea, as i said, it could be the most random screwy fuse and it'll fix everything. Glad to hear you fixed it though
It may not be as random as you think. You could have possibly grounded your speaker wire causing weird thing to happen to your HU.
