I'd lean for JL over PG in this day and age. PG isn't bad, but JL is a better product.

I like the a/e series too. same design pretty much, same power supply design, a little less power and xover is not as advanced, but still good clean power IMO.

Unless we are talking Phoenix gold. They have had plenty of good series as well over the years, some were budget oriented though and just a basic amp.

My JL 300/4 died on me... Called JL they said that running a inline volume control with the amp is bad for it and it will eventually die.... but they said they could fix it for like 50 bucks + shipping. So instead I built a amp9 from www.41hz.com

I've had a JL 300/4 under my seat for four years running now, most of the time with Polk EX components on the front, and lately Polk MOMOs all around, only trouble with it is some static in the rear tweeters, but I think that's due to the RCA cables i'm using.

Really? I saw an occasional slash amp come in when I worked at Tweeter, but it was usually something stupid/install related. The more amps you sell, the more likely you will see more of them come back. I think the percentage of bad ones is fairly low in comparision with how many are in the market. Just curious, where did you hear they had problems?

I've had great experience with JL amps. I currently have a 450/4 biamped to my front speakers, a 500/1 to my sub, and a e2150 for my rear fill. I used to have a 300/4 for all 4 speakers, but I wanted to go higher power.

Anyways, no problems with any of my amps.
