go with a kicker comp vr. All the rest of the mentioned subs are crap. The pioneer is a good second though.... Or look for an infinity kappa.

    audiobahn subs

I had a pair of audiobahn subs and they are good but I am thinking about rebuilding and want to try something different. I guess I want to know if there are other subs out there that compare to kicker, audiobahn, pioneer etc... I live in the houston area and everbody pretty much have the same audio equip. looking for something new can anybody help me out.

ehm.... putting audiocrap on the same level as pioneer and again putting those next to a kicker comp vr...... ouwch.....

Look for an infinity kappa if that's in your price-range (I think it is)... Or look for an adire sub or something.... Adire is out of business since very shortly, so they should probably throw them at your head.....

$199 is just $60 more then the other subs and it should hit really hard

Is i were you i go for the pioneer TS-w line o the kicker CVR those are one of the best subs you can get for less than $100
I love the pioneer TS-W subs, they are good quality, price, etc. They sound great and are pretty accurate too. Better bet is to get the Premier versions of the same subs, they are only a few bucks more, but are made with a little more attention to detail. My brother just got a pair of TS-W1207D4's and they hit pretty hard. Only paid $45 + shipping each on ebay, brand new. Kickers are good too. I like their round subs, good price. Rockford used to have decent subs, and the newer models are good too.

    Did anyone see this:
    http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pn...259524,00.html

9 premier amps set the dB record in '03, powered by 36 amps, and 72 batteries, hit 173.3 dB.
I had a pair of the step down on these, and I hit 148 dB easy. The TS-W1207D4's haven't been tested yet, but I estimate 140+.

it's easy to give 2 w7's the business if they aren't installed properly

indeed.... probably an enclosure that's too small, or an amp that doesn't give enough juice..... Jl is known for it's low efficiency, so depending on which W7 you had you'd need about 1000, 1500 or 2000Watts RMS PER SUB... A1500.2 (can't find the specs of the 1400.2) gives you 1100watts RMS @ 2Ohm, while you'd need 2000/3000 or even 4000watts at 1.5 or 6 Ohms....

    So no wonder they sucked....
