    need new battery

I am about to install my system and the thought occurred to me that my system might require an additional battery to handle it, now I am looking for advice. My system is composed of the carputer powered by an m2-atx, 7in 629 lilli screen, jl compenent set in front and jl rears powered by jl e4300 at 45wRMS x 4 @ 4 ohms, two jl 12w1v2 at 150w RMS each powered by a jl e1400d rated at 400wRMS at 2 ohms/ 240wRMS at 4 ohms. I am not good with electrical terms and need to know if this setup will kill my battery.

Batteries- Good for running your system when the car is off, but add an additional load your alternator must charge essentialy putting more strain on your stock alternator.

Upgraded battery-Can deliver current faster and when you go with the deep cycle hybrids. For eaxmple the optima yellow top can help, especially if you like to drain your battery running your system. Regular car batteries that are not deep cycle will die an early death if they are continuosly discharged.

High Output Alternators-great if you need more current to drive your amplified setup while the car is running, but not necessary for most people. It's an expensive endeavor- IMO you don't really need to start looking at HO alt unless you start going over 1000Wrms. This is only my opinion, and not gospel.

Caps-Not necessary and usually a waste of money. Only a few of the larger ones actually do anything, but it's for smoothing out the voltage more then anything.

"Big 3 upgrade"-First step to take IF you notice voltage drops (I.E. headlights dimming)

It's not a noob question-just overlooked by many people when running a lot of power.

    Google is your friend.

"Big 3 upgrade" in google and you get alot of hits scroll down that page and look in the featured topics section

Think of it like this, you are running heavy gauge wire back to your trunk from the battery. Is the battery your only source of power? What about the alternator? What about the return path?
