you can go with a two way setup (most simple) or a 3 way setup.
for a two way i'd suggest a larger format tweeter and a 7" or 8" mid. it'll be easier to tune and less drivers to install/aim/fit
that is the route i choose
take a look at this:
http://www.diymobileaudio.com/forum/...ight=cdt+es-07
specifically:
Imho, the W18NX is a far better driver than the cdt 07 in nearly every aspect (clarity, distortion performance, output, build, usable bandwidth). However, in a car you're probably going to need some pretty good tuning skills and/or discriminating tastes to really hear a big difference. I think the most readily apparent difference to most people will be the bass output below 100hz, where the w18nx really overtakes the cdt's. All in all though I agree with newtitan.. the cdt 07's are pretty good speakers just not a great value as compared to raw drivers.

Im in love whit them.. hehe
Right now the highpass is set at 50hz and the low pass at 4000hz. They do realy nice like this.
Ive used them in passive whit the ES-200Z the first year (whit a crappy HU) and they did really nice. The crossover have some really usefull adjustement for incar environnement...
The only upgrade i'll do is adding some ES-02 on the dash to make my stage a bite upper and to release some stress from my little DRT25 tweeter. (The true reason is because I have 2 channels free on my Nine.4, but dont tell my girlfriend).
If its not to complicated to install, i would go 3way, but if you cant do it, 2 way still give a very nice sounding...

Nothing wrong with CDT's. I like vifa drivers.
To add to scott's info on the Seas W18, here is the car component version.

Scott are using the Nextels?
I actually took my Scans down to 40Hz, and they will play down to 20 in my door no problem. They are amazing. I backed them off and went for 63Hz to gain a little more power handling. I could almost run subless and most people would never know until they wanted that deep low impact.

not the nextels. :-( I went with the g18rnx/p because of the ease of implementation and the great s/q for the price. should play up to 4khz with a natural rolloff then my large format tweets should be able to pick that up well below and give me some flexibility with x-over points.
my woofers should go down to 50 hz no problem (actually should go down to 20 too), just hope i can deaden my door enough to let it play that low and not introduce rattles or noises
