I have a question, is there anyone use digital sound in car? I have a PCMCIA sound card and it can give out digital signal but i have no clue as of how to set it up. Any help will be great.<br /><br />
to use digital sound no...cause sound is analog when it comes out of your speakers
seriously though, you can use optical out from sound cards into a sound processor with an optical input such as the Alpine h701. from there on it will change it into an analog form for the amplifiers to use.
A digital signal can be sent though 2 types of cables. Optical and RCA. Argueably there are different benifits to both, but I wont get into that. They both require the use of an additional processor to convert the signal over to analog and some, if not most, may even require amplifiers. There are also some amps that accepts and processes a digital signal. And if you chose a processor that does not have the same type of connection that you already have, I'm sure there are moduals that allow you to convert Optical-to-Digital RCA or vice versa
