    Car audio Equilizer

Hello every body, I was wondering if it's a good idea to hook up a cheap car audio equilizer to the carputer and tune the music in the EQUALIZER instead of doing it on the winamp. I'm gonna run my carpc withouth head unit (this is my case) I'm not trying to acomplish a SQ sound or something like that just something that sound decent.

    I got to alpine amps.
    1 4ch and 1 mono-d
1 pair of mb quart component speakers for the front 1 pair of alpine component spk for the rear.

    thanks

    In short, Yes.

Longer version (without being too long winded about it): EQs are a perfect edition to a car computer setup, in my opinion. It allows on-the-fly tuning without having to mess with a small computer screen. The nice part of EQs is that most decent ones have built in line drivers, which is especially good given that the signal is weak coming from the built in sound card on your computer. I would say that a good portion of members that are using EQs have stepped up to using one with an optical or spdif input to it because of the benifits like surround or DTS and preservation of sound quality. I personally have become somewhat of an unoffical advocate of alpine's PXA-H701 Digital processor/EQ with the standalone controller rux-c701 because of the amount of functions and features so I would definitely reccomend that if you are willing to shell out the cash.

Thanks for answer I would like to use the alpines PXA-H701 but in order to use I will probably need the RUX-C-701 besides I don't have space in my dash to run it because I have a 7' touch screen I'm trying to run my setup without head unit. But I hear good things from those alpine units and I would like to try it sometime, but right now I'm looking for a shipper option, some body have a good recomendation?

I think you would be better of sticking with the WinAmp EQ than to buy some cheap crappy EQ just for the sake of buying one...

You might consider looking into AudioControl. They make good quality products for very reasonable prices.

I run an AudioControl Three.1 unit that I am EXTREMELY happy with.

If you need all the functionality of the unit you linked to, they also have the Four.1 that has the additional input.

It's not low-priced by any stretch of the imagination, but it's an excellent value.
Have you looked in the FAQ yet?
    How about the Wiki?

AC would be good if you want a set it and forget it piece, but if you are looking for something to set up multiple curves on for different kinds of music and changing the EQ for the different kinds of music then something like this Pioneer Its an older design but it fits those needs, plus has a sub out built in.
