besides that, I think your understanding of how they are using the word 'digital' is a bit off...
I saw this on ebay and wanted to change my audio into digital but i needed some feedback on this or any other product that will work. I have a pcmcia sound card from creative and its digital.

A saying I like to live by is "It is always cheaper to do it the right way first!" If you are really wanting to switch to a digital sound look to what most everyone else is doing.
1. We all use product with a good solid foundation.
2. We all use product from a company that is well respected.
If you want to get into the digital sound realm look into the alpine 701 processor. They can be had for not much money and I havent talked to anyone that didnt like the unit for their daily setup. If interested do a search there are alot of people that know alot more about this processor then me as I decided on the Zapco piece.
