    GIGAPort AG USB Sound Card

Is there someone who know anything about this card?
    http://www.esi-pro.com/viewProduct.php?pid=12&page=1

    Is any one using it?
I am almost sure I will buy it. But it´s always good to see here if someone have any information.

Seems to be a good card anyway!

Hey im looking at using one of these to run of my up comming project carputer. I need atleast 6 rca outputs, plus longterm will look to upgrade to surround sound. I think this will forefill my requirements. Anybody out there using this?

Voltage outs on that card aren't going to be very high at all.

    FYI

One pt to consider too. Check & make sure that the external USB soundcard can support hibernate mode in your carpc (if you use hibernate). I wired my new USB Audigy 2NX & just realised it can't support hibernate mode in my carpc. Now back to sourcing for a replacement unit that support hibernate mode

I'm confused about the 16-bit/24-bit claims of this device...

There is lots of info on this card being a 24-bit card yet on the ESI website, it states it's a 16-bit card.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PCDJ-Gigaport-...em?refid=store states the following in the specs:
    16 Bit resolution
    24 Bit D/A converter

I don't really understand... do sound cards not all have DAC's in them? Can you have a 24-bit DAC yet the card is still 16-bit? What's that all about?? Can someone explain as wikipedia and Google don't seem to relate to these differences.
