will a 160Amp H/O Alternator work for my setup?

ok, so i just recently found out that for my 2005 Honda Civic EX, stinger (or anyone else for that matter) doesnt make an alternator of 250Amps or more. the 250Amp alternator for the civic that Stinger does make as a kit (Pully, belt, Alt) is not for street use, only show. The belt on that kit lasts for 3K to 4K miles and then needs replaced. For some reason or another, it doesnt like 13HP being run through it for very long.

so now to the bulk of my question...

i found a 160Amp High Output Alternator that is made for my car, and i was wondering if it would be enough to run my system of 145 Amps for the sub and 85 for the front stage, and then all the accessories, like lights and windshield wipers and AC,blinkers etc. along with 2 Optima Yellow Top batteries.

the Sub will more than likely never be pushed full power, it will probably not be pushed very loud either (for long), since i like to actually hear my music.

so what do you all think, is 160Amps going to be enough for everyday use?

no, i do not know at which volume levels will put the amperage above 160, and as it sits right now, with just my front stage, it only gets to about 100 Amps on full volume and all accessories running, and it normally sits around 65Amps since i dont need my music that loud.

I know im a little scatterbrained right now, so if you dont understand what im trying to say...just say so and ill try to clarify it for everyone

its plenty....but if any lights dim ...ever....considder a second alternator if you can fit it.

its a common setup to run a GM 1 wire to a sparated / isolated battery.

or depending on your setup, there are others out that will do

yeah, big3 was gonna be done at the same time...0 gauge for me...all the way around

no the alternator is not Stinger...im currently emailing Dom Iraggi at Traffic Jams because the guy local to me who wraps alternators for Stinger cant get one to fit in my car...

Iraggi alternators, from what i have read online are really good and put out the actual amperage it says it can, and they are cheap in price.

i also found this: http://www.civicforums.com/forums/21...-gen-pics.html but nothing came out of it...

Edit: i just got off the phone with Mike from trafficjamcars (Dom Iraggi's shop) and they get theirs from Ohio Generator...hes gonna give me a call back tomorrow.

yeah I own an 200a iraggi, biggest he can put on an import unfortunately. i got the amputator series, it puts out 115a on idle! instead of the average 65a.

Good guy IMO, I heard though lately he's been takin his sweet time to get things done i dont know if its because of finals or not though. hopefully everything works out good.
