    sub and faceplate questions.

Alright i have 2 10" bazooka subs with a 300 watt max amp that came bundled. I think there is somthing wrong with my subs becuase im getting a crappy sound compaired to my friends subs and in traffic today i had my system pumping and the guy in the car next to me said somthing about my inputs being reversed. I have no idea what he was talking about i know zero about subs. Also my subs dont give like the punches my friends do like you know the boom boom type of thing they kinda more just vibrate. What should i do to check them out/ get them checked out? Also i have the original faceplate in my 1997 camry and all it has is a dail that changes from bass to treb. So when i turn the bass up i loose alot of treb and treb up alot of bass. Any recomendations on faceplates i should buy?? Im looking to spend about $100.

thread moved to the appropriate forum (out of Car Audio FAQ)...though I'm not sure you realize that this is a CarPC forum mostly...

Spending $100 on a head unit is a bit low IMHO...

Most likely the gent in the next car was speaking about how your bazooka tubes were wired, in that 1 of them was correctly wired positive amplifier terminal to positive speaker terminal and negative to negative, while the second tube is wired in revers (pos to neg, neg to pos). If this is the case, they are out of phase and essentially canceling each other out.

This may or may not be the case, either way I hope it helps.
