    Need PC to Amp Solution

Ok I've searched on here off and on for a few months and learned a lot but it's hard to find a good thread to fill in all the gaps so I hope you guys can help me. So here is what I am installing and here is what I need:

Carputer is going to be a 2ghz VIA C7 from MCS

    Stereo:
    JL 250/1 Amp
    JL 300/2 Amp
    JL 12w6v2 Sub
    Focal 165 KF Speakers

Hopefully that gives you the general Idea of the quality I like. I LOVE me some quality but those all fit in my budget, and I like how they all sound.

Anyway I honestly get lost when it comes to DAC vs external SC. I want the best solution for quality that goes well with what I listed above. IE I don't need a $400 Pro DAC lol.

And I know quality is really judged by the listener but I really just need some solutions that are going to work, sound good enough where I won't hear anything negative (I have sensative ears). I also get lost in all the volts of the units. I don't want to get a setup and have it be too quite, but that is the part that really loses me, I don't understand how it all works and relates.

Something like $100 or less sounds reasonable off the top of my head. I hope you can give me some good recommendations for what I would call a medium - high 2.1 system.

    Thanks in advance!
    Chris

    First qustion.

Do you have a free PCI slot? if no USB audio is what you should be looking at. Either way any good 2 channel model will do the trick.

Oh yeah sorry about that yes it will have to be a USB out, no available pc slots. And will any DAC or SC be the same? There are just so many of them I can't find reviews of them all. A lot of the DAC's listed aren't made anymore and the only usb one I found easily available is that turtle beach one.

    Thanks

    Plenty of choice here:

I've only used Cmedia multichannel USB soundcards so won;t make any specific recomendations.

Thanks for the links. I know there are lots of DAC's out there and I have read through that thread you posted a few times but there are no mentions of quality or experience most of the time, just a long list.

I was looking more for recommendations from those lists that you know, like, love, whatever. The list is good but it's easy to get lost in, all just numbers.

    Thanks Again

So far I think the Turtle Beach Audio Advantage SRM USB looks like it will fit the bill.

Still would be nice to get some recommendations though of people that have actually used these.

    No one has any input?

I'm not afraid of searching but like I said everything that turns up is just a list of products with no real info/reviews.

I have a sound blaster Audigy 2NX, it works great. I have it hooked up to a 4ch amp. The sound is the same as an high-end head unit with 5v pre-outs. I have to sets of componnets hooked up power bass extreme line. the system sounds great. soon I will be putting all arc audio amps, subs and componnets in , their audiophile stuff. So it going to sound even better with the sound card I have now. My sound card is usb and external. I just power it off the 5v rail of the power supply which is one of the connectors which you would use to hook up a hard drive or to power a dvd/cd drive inside the case.Your going to have to find it used or refurbish. Mine was refurbished from creative lab. Since I want a video capture device, creative makes one that is like the soundblaster and video capture in one. But its going to be double the price, about $200. I would go with the
sound blaster Audigy 2NX, should be under $70. If you have the cash,go with http://us.creative.com/products/prod...&product=11226
but I think there out of stock, so just google it find other stores
