My speakers came in today (PICS)

    Wow...these are beautiful!!
And from the reviews I've read, they sound just as nice too!
Can't wait to get 'em installed!

    Tada! 2 pairs, cause I'm 5.1

    The contents...

    The drivers and crossovers...
I'm glad it came with those 5X7 adapters, as I drive a Ford!

    ...and the tweeters and mounts

they look nice, remember, high and speakers need 40 hours of low power playing before you can use the max. volum.

what evidence do you have to support this statement?

yea.. i've heard people say that but i've personally never done it and never had a speaker blow in my life. I've never seen the number as high as 40 hours either. That would be like a month and a half before i could turn the volume up on the speakers in my car lol.

I recently purchased a pair of M6's. I called CDT and asked if they recommend any type of "break in" time. They said no.

yea.. i would think something like that would be mentioned in the instructions of speakers if it really applied.. i know that speakers settle and that usually results in a fuller sound over time but i've never heard i have to play them at low volumes for a set period

I've heard the break in procedure before, but I heard it was 40 MINUTES and only on older speakers. Most manufacturers test the speakers before they send them out, and in that test it seats the voice coil, and is "broken in"

Play them at a normal volume from the start. You'll be just fine. (And nice speakers, I used to have a set of the old PRS's from a few years back, and they were awesome.)
