Variable Bitrate
Let's see...
It takes power to make anything smoke electrically, so I am guessing that somehow voltage is feeding back into your mobo, probably related to audio connection. That's a "no duh" statement, but we must start somewhere in troubleshhoting.
What kind of psu are you using for your carpc?
Is the audio output of your sound card connected to one or more amplifiers?
Do you have a sound card, or are you using mobo sound output?
Disconnect your connection between carpc audio and amplifier(s) and put your dc voltmeter in series: check from carpc audio ground to amp audio ground and see if voltage is present. Check carpc left and right audio outputs (+) to amp audio inputs (+), looking for voltage present. There should be no potential between these points.
You might be getting a surge or spike in your dc power due to amplifier drawing too much. Try connecting an mp3 player to amp inputs and turn it up (NO connection to carpc at this point). Measure your 12 volts dc supply to amp(s) when volume is high, with some bassy music to see if amp is dropping dc supply excessively. Do you have large enough gage wire feeding amp?

i took my pc apart to see if there were any lose wires maybe thats why it was causing the pc to smoke up, as i was taking it apart i realised that my ide cable was all burned up i dont know how this happend so i replaced the cable and everything is fine at the moment (touch wood). i think this may have happend because it was overheating what do you guys think?
