form factor and the fact that it's a very tall power supply.

btw - I got in one of those GoodDeals18 monitors and promptly sent it back, it was an utter piece of crap. Again, read on here, there's an entire thread dedicated to those things....including the review I wrote up.
Yeah, I read that entire topic.

I will stick with the XENARC.

Awesome! Thanks a lot for your help so far.

I think the M2 should be plenty for my system.

I think I came up with the final config. I am accepting any suggestions:

    Power Supply: M2-ATX 160w - $90
    MB: JetWay JM26GT3-SVP AM2 NVIDIA NF6100-405- $40
    Processor: AMD Athlon X2 4050e 2.1GHz Socket AM2 45W - $70
    Memory: G.SKILL 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800- $20
    HD: SAMSUNG Spinpoint M Series HM250JI 250GB 5400RPM SATA - $100
    Soundcard: M-Audio Delta 1010LT PCI - $170
    Display: Xenarc 700TSV - $350

I have been doing a lot of research and I think I will change again for a MINI-ITX setup. It might be a bit more expensive but I would consume more power and I believe the system would run quieter too.

I am thinking on using this combo, because it has a fanless processor, so it would be really quiet. The thing is, it is only a 1.2GHz processor. That should enough for my applications right.

    The combo costs about U$210.

    Jetway J7F5M1G2E-VHE Mini-ITX Mainboard
    1.2Ghz VIA C7 Fanless

I found out a new combo, way cheaper. Do you guys think that will be enough processing power?

    VIA EPIA M10000G Nehemiah Mini-ITX 1GHz C3 FAN - U$170 (no SATA / only DDR266 memory)

    What do you guys think?

    Any suggestions?

    Possible System

    Power Supply: M2-ATX 160w - $90
    MB/Processor: VIA EPIA-EN12000EG Mini-ITX Motherboard C7 1.2GHz Fanless - $233
    Memory: G.SKILL Extreme 1GB 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 533 - $20
    HD: SAMSUNG Spinpoint M Series HM250JI 250GB SATA 2.5" - $100
    Soundcard: M-Audio Delta 1010LT PCI - $170
    Display: Xenarc 700TSV - $350
    TOTAL: $963

I guess it is just a MYTH then!

Let's hope I can pull it off. Do you think my config seems pretty good so far?
I did not have any "computer" noise at MECA Finals. Three judges, nor had I been docked for it all year. I have to agree with RED, those people probably had a poor implementation. Simple test if you are worried about it, buy the card you are looking at, install it in your home PC, connect a pair of headphones and listen for any odd noises. If it passes the headphone test, then you should be fine. If you can't hear noise with headphones, you will almost NEVER hear it over speakers.

For VST software audio tuning minimum requirement will be an older Pentium4 or equivalent. That new combo you picked out will probably come to a screaching halt or run slow as molasses. With software processing, the CPU is doing at the work, not the DSP chip on the soundcard. I am using a pentium4 mobile 1.6Ghz processor and if I try to play video with the sound processing, the PC is running at 100% and is pretty much maxed out.

    Durwood.

That is great to hear from a competitor point of view.

I am going to be competing in IASCA Brazil so that is extremely important.

So you think going with that combo with the 1.2Ghz VIA processor won't work very well?

Basically I need at least a MICRO ATX then?

    Thanks a lot!

    Edit

Seems like I will go back with the MICROATX idea.

    MB: JetWay JM26GT3-SVP AM2 NVIDIA NF6100-405- $40
    Processor: AMD Athlon X2 4050e 2.1GHz Socket AM2 45W - $70

I believe the M2 should handle them well... Still looking at other combos.

    Another option:

    ABIT I-N73HD LGA 775 NVIDIA GeForce 7100 HDMI - $83
    Intel Celeron 430 Conroe-L 1.8GHz LGA 775 35W Single-Core - $40

ASUS M3N78-EMH HDMI AM2+/AM2 NVIDIA GeForce 8200 HDMI - $95 (better GPU.. maybe too much power consumption)
    AMD Athlon X2 4050e 2.1GHz Socket AM2 45W Dual-Core - $67

Has anyone seen those already made kits? What do you guys think?

    http://store.mo-co-so.com/complete-1...stem-p-80.html
    $900

    1.66GHz Intel Core 2 Duo T5500
    Samsung HM120JI 25GB
    M2 ATX Power Supply
    1GB DDR2
    Slim DVD Drive
    Case
    Built-In Bluetooth

If I go with something like that I would use a FIREWIRE card.

What about the USB controllable sound processors? The Zapco one has balanced outputs and takes SPDIF as an input (from the soundcard of choice). They have built-in controllable crossovers for the outputs.

I also have been looking into this and talked to Scott Buwalda about it too.
I have gotten to the point that im going to gather my research and just build something and hope it works out. I have to get my L3, Pro L1's installed first before i start with the Pc but if you decide on something or a way to go let me know how it turns out. I sold a Denon DCT Z1 and would hope to have the same quality as it but i truly dont think its going to happen lol.

Ohhh something i found out its best to use an external sound card from what i have heard.

Hey mate! I am sure you will love your L1 Pro and L3. Yeah I am not sure if it is gonna happen for me either. Let me know if you find something out.

I think I will build my system, focus 110% on it.. After everything is working perfectly, I might try the CARPC.
