^that will be a 4 ohm configuration, yes, but will only be using half the power available from the amp. OP, with those subs, there is NO way to get 600w RMS out of that particular amp unless you only use one sub. Glad to hear you're happy with it, but you're still only getting about 1/3 of what those subs could actually do!

LOL, glad it worked for you. As I said before, I'd personally just leave the amp alone. Save your $$ for something else since it seems to be loud enough for you. Right now unless it's at 100% you're not even using the full amount of power your amp has. Upgrading it will just give you more power that you're not using, and the potential gain is minimal.

i dont know what these guys are talkin about (well i do but its inconsequential) but:

whats the vc config on the hx2? if you're hooking up the hx2 @ 2ohms and then the ba @ 2ohms and the hx2 thumps but the ba doesn't then the issue is you bought crappy speakers.

you can do all the wiring you want but if 1 ba wired @ 2 ohms connected to the amp isn't giving you the output you want then you wont ever get it. in this configuration you are putting the full 600w on 1 speaker. if its not moving then, then 2 wired at 4ohms total (150w/driver) will not be any better.

*edit - well then... whatever works i geuss. personally would be itching my head as to why 2 subs getting 150w a piece is louder than 1 getting 600w, but i'm looking at a bad description of the wiring you were doing.

the problem is that he was running the amp at 1ohm, and it wasn't designed to run that way. Clipping the PSU and whatnot.

Also, the difference between 150 watts and 600 watts is a maximum of 6dB. But if he's not even using the full 150, then what difference does it make? It's like having a 500hp car and driving it to work. You have 500hp available, but you're only ever using ~100.

i'll put my money that if he wires 1 sub (2ohm) to the - of the s channel and the postive of the v channel (going by the pics, blurry) his output will be =/> what he has now.

any way you slice it the speakers can handle much more power than they are seeing in the 4 ohm configuration.

and i agree about the original problem being the 1 ohm load.

The two subs weren't getting 150W a piece because they were running at a 1 ohm final load which made the amp extremely inefficient. It was probably clipping and delivering more like 20-30W a piece.

The interesting thing is that the channels on the amp are obviously internally bridged in parallel...so couldn't he move the negative to the other channel and get it down to a 2 ohm final load? Right now the subs are running in series giving a 4 ohm final load to the amp, but only on one output. If the outputs are bridged in parallel, moving that negative over should deliver twice as much power

Edit: yep black lol you just thought of the same exact thing I did. Even if he does that though, the subs could still handle another 150w RMS that the rockford amp can't deliver...I'll say it again...that's why I hate Rockford. Not to mention the fact that most RF amps I've installed got hot enough @ 100W output for me to fry a damn egg on the heat sink...

I thought it was a mono amp in the first place.

My point was that what's the point of putting more power on it if he's not even using up the available power on this amp. It would just be throwing money at something to fix a problem that doesn't exist because the 90w or so that he's using (arbitrary number) right now is plenty.

Just because the speaker can handle more power doesn't mean that you need to throw more power at it.

lol....guys i thank you all for the help, it got me some bass....baddass.....but....

Is there any amp that you can recommend that I replace the fosgate with? I want to get the right amount of wattage to these things, even if not going to 100% help....any reommendations.

BTW, about that 500hp thing....Thats exactly what these subs are in , a 500awhp beast, I use all 500awhp everyday with it

edit: just read your post above techy as i wrote this...ok so i dont need another amp then....i guess the only reason to upgrade it is to loose the Fosgate name

it is a mono amp. i see 2 possiblities here for more power here (using the diagram for illustrational purposes):

    1) moving the wire from r- to l- (may or may not do anything, for some reason this is stumping me right now)

    2) putting 1 sub (2ohm) on r+ and l-
