I have:
JVC JDAVX44 Kamillion
Rockford Fosgate 4 ch amp
Rockford Fosgate Mono amp
all stock speakers, tweeters, and stock sub (none of the wirings changed either, just replaced the stock amp.)
I have te JVC connected properly to factory harness and all 4.1 channels connected to the two amp.. my cheapo car didn't come with a center, got suggestions?
This is a very weird problem. The whole setup worked fine with the stock headunit, old JVC unit, and a cheapo Sony unit. All connections seem to be correct since it works fine with the radio on. All 4 speakers fine and sub is fine, the amp turns on.
However, when I change it to DVD or CD mode, the amps all turn off and no sound output. I haven't tried iPod yet.
Does anyone know what's happening?
Is it just a setting or is my headunit defective?

Never let the truth get in the way of a good story
You have your amp turn on lead connected to your power antenna feed instead of the rem line. Common mistake since they're both typically blue.
Thanks for telling me meddler, the mp3 part of it threw me off!
This is a popular site.. its on top in must search engines.
in case anyone stumbles upon this through a search... I accidently connected my AMP remote wire to Antennae wire of headunit which was also blue. I cut it and connected it back to remote wire. That explains why it only turned on when tuner or radio is on.
--- EDIT
I should have refreshed the page 2 hours earlier!!!! then I would have saw your answer instead of being stuck out there. Thanks pikers!
ok, but how do i know which is the remote wire?
the only wire i see that would work is the power antenna one.
im a noob at this stuff and dont know much so help would be much appreciated
you should a blue (antenna lead) and the blue w/ white stripe (remote turn on lead)
use the blue w/wht to your amp turn on leads.
