test which cable is the switch, sounds like hes got them messed up or the ignition is cutting it
Hi, I've just bought an old '95 Corsa, and the guy who had it before me seems to have gone crazy with the wiring behind the stereo. It seems most of the rear speaker wires have been cut but i think the rest look intact. I fit a known-working stereo in the car and it works fine - that is untill the ignition is turned on, at which point it stops working completely. Take the keys abck out the radio works fine.
I'm guessing theres just 2 wires i may need to switch to get the radio to work with the ignition on. but which ones? I'm clueless.
Thanks for your help!

Sorry, lol, I'm crap with electricals. How do I do that?
It's an old car, and I don't have any money. Plus electricuting myself on a 12v car battery would be pretty funny. lol.
Where d'ya find such professionals?
Thanks
Tom.
Considering the lethal amount of amps that would run through you, you wouldn't laugh for very long, I assure you.
Time to engage the grey matter.Where d'ya find such professionals?
Who would logically have knowledge and experience with the electrical system of a vehicle?
Either an automotive electrician or a car stereo installer.
Sorry, the noggin has been rather slow as of late. Thanks for your help.
