Hey all
So I've got a little problem. I got my 4ch amp, my wiring, etc. Now in my car (2001 sunfire) I found that there is an OEM amp in there, a Monsoon amp. A quick google will show that they're nothing but a pain in the ***. Anyway, so I'm thinking of ways to bypass it. Obviously cutting off the connector and directly connecting to the wires for the speakers is the easiest option. So I unplugged the amp to make sure that my car wouldn't miss it, only to find that my door chimes don't work then.
So I've come down to, for a lack of better ideas, thinking about using both my 4ch amp, and the Monsoon amp. My idea is to put input for my music and whatnot directly to the 4ch amp, and them splicing into the speaker wires for output. While at the same time leaving the OEM connections as they were. The idea I have behind that, is the door chimes would go through the Monsoon deck, while everything else would go through my 4ch amp. Now the question I've got though, is-
Is there a problem with having 2 sources of sound going to the same speakers? Meaning, there's not going to be a problem with having my 4ch producing sounds to the speakers, and then out of the blue, the monsoon deck doing the same thing for the chimes, right?
Any ideas or suggestions would be awesome too, like always![]()
