    Volvo V70 radio harness

Ok, I used a radio harness kit from my friendly neighborhood audio store... and it looks like some of the pins aren't being utilized.

It has everything that I need, 12V+, ground, Speaker connections, etc... but I'd just really rather know what those other pins are for.

It's a 1998 Volvo V70 using the stock CD player and NO factory amp. if anyone has any leads or info, I'd appreciate.

what "pins" are you talking bout? you should have 2 white, green, grey, purple those are speaker wires you should have 1 red, yelowand black wire those you should know then you will have 1 ornage wire which is for auto dimming when you turn your interrior lights down if the radio supports the function it will dim also. then you should have 1 blue wire for power antenna/remote wire for your amplifier

yeah, I have those, and those are basic. Power, stereo, dimming, amp control, etc. etc...

but when looking at the volvo plug that the adapter plugs into, some of the wires on the volvo/car side do not have a mating pair on the adapter side. The radio works perfect right now, so obviously, all the functions that are required work. I wired the stereos front/back-Left/right all correctly (for my first, I'm kinda proud of that :-D)... but I was just curious as to the other stuff.

Also, my lilliput has an automatic rear-view connection to the tranny that automatically switches the viewpoint to Rear Cam when I'm backing, and back to whatever when it's on everything else... Any idea where this connection is?

so what your sayin is your hookin up your lilliput and not all the wires are there to connect. like i said the radio may not support auto dimming and other features. if its a flip out monitor you will have some wires with no place to be wired to because they put safety features to keep you from watchin tv/dvds while drivin

no, I mean that the volvo has some pins that the adapter does not address (the adapter does not have wires for them) and I want to know what those pins are for...

I certainly hope so... otherwise, I'll be pulling panels off needlessly for something that was already there.

In any case, do you know of any detailed wiring diagrams I could get?
