Hey, I just did the first portion of upgrading my car's audio. I changed out the door speakers from the stock ones to some JBL Grand Touring Series GTO627's. For the back I just cut the plug off that connected to the stock speaker and then soldered the wires directly to the terminal posts on the new speakers. On the front I reused the old speaker casing as a spacer and I soldered some 12guage wire from the old terminals to the new speaker terminals so I could reuse the stock plug. However, I'm getting a static sound that becomes more evident when it is cold outside, when its in the middle of the day the speakers are awesome. If I cut the plug off and just solder the wires just like I did for the rear speakers do you think this will solve the static problem? Everything else is stock on the car.
