    JL Cleansweep, Immediate asisstance!!

    Howdy!

I own a 2002 Ford Mustang w/ the stock Mach radio system.(Until today...only the HU remains)
I purchased a 4 channel amp that is powering 4 Alpine type S, and I already had a 2 channel powering 2 Polk audio subs. I plan on pursuing some sort of car PC in the near future...and therefore decided to purchase a JL cleansweep instead of aftermarket radio.

...Both amps receive power, they just don't send out any kind of signal.

When we installed the rear speakers,[COLOR="red"] I took out the stock speakers, stock amps, and disconnected all of the harnesses back there. The harnesses were connected into the two stock AMPS and the rear speakers and lead up towards the front of the car via the driver's side.

The cleansweep is tapped into the stock HU via what I think is the correct harness/wires. There are 2 RCA's that run to the 4 channel amp. 1 for front left/right and rear left/right. Then there is an rca from the OUTPUT of the 4channel to the input of the 2 channel.

I do have sound out of my front right tweeter(we did not remove the tweeters, in hopes they could still be used.)...but no sound out of the Alpines, Subs, nor the left tweeter.

I also tried plugging an ipod directly into the inputs of the cleansweep in hopes of bypassing the radio with no avail. However, I am not sure the ipod would be the correct kind of signal for the cleansweep to activate or pass through.

Would anyone have a diagram of exactly which wires should be tapped into for the Cleansweep which could be used to double check the connections. Or just a general idea of why it would not send out a signal. How about any clue as to why only one tweeter is working...
Any input or suggestions are greatly appreciated as I would like to get this done by tomorrow!!

Did you switch the CleanSweep to Aux In? The Ipod signal should work with the CleanSweep. Push the volume knob to switch from radio to aux.

I am at a loss about your tweeter problem. I thought the tweeters were powered by the radio and all the other speakers were powered by the amps.

I would like to hear what you've found

I did initally switch the Cleansweep to aux in, but apparently something else was wrong. Either way, I did eventually get the ipod ONLY to work correctly and it does sound pretty good.

The tweeters baffle me. The cleansweep is only connected to the radio by it's power wires. The signal is coming from the rear speakers. If I try to calibrate the cleansweep, it says I am not receiving a full range signal...But the right tweeter will work during one calibration and left if I calibrate it again. Just some random effect...I am calibrating it with the included audio CD if that makes a difference.

On that full range signal, I gave it a source for rear/front right and rear/front left. I'm not quite sure why I would be getting this error. The rear speaker harnesses have been reconnected to the stock amps. I was told this would fix the problem. It at least gave me a bit of sound/static..vs NOTHING at all. Now my trunk is just a hideous mess with all these items scattered about. lol.

I do have the Visteon HD unit along with my ipod...so I technically don't need my HU anymore. I need to find a switcher, or a module for the cleansweep to allow 2 AUX inputs. From there, I may purchase either a flip out screen or lilliput and install a cheap dvd/cd unit in the glove for now. I plan to purchase the new macbook pro to be used as the carPC, but I need the money and a way to dock the unit.

Double check where the cleansweep is getting its signal.
