Angry Car Audio Problems - Assistance Please

Hey all, I was looking for some assistance with my stereo

I purchased a JVC stereo and wired it up to my mk4 astra however the only way I can get it to work is with 2 constant feeds. There are 3 wiring methods and the only one that seems to work is the one with the 2 constant 12V connected.

When I connect the 0/12V ignition switched wire to the stereo the voltage seems to drop to 0V. It reads 12V on the multimeter when not connected and tis drops to 0V when connected. I would like to have the stereo Switched through the ignition.

Also... the blue switch wire will not power on my amp. It tests out at approx 11V when the stereo is on. I am waiting on a new Amp in the post... would like a few ideas to try before then. If it comes to it I will need to connect it to the 0/12V switched wire. I would rather controlled by stereo though

I can seem to see anything wrong with the wiring... Beginning to think the stereo is faulty.

    Any help would be appreciated
    Cheers
    Davie

That wire may be a very low current wire. I'm gonna assume that the factory radio used this wire to determine whether the ignition is on or off. So I'm guessing (I've never heard of your car) that wire is capable of just a few milli-amps. If this is the case, can it turn a relay on and off?

At this point I don't think its the radio. If you hook the 0/12-volt (Ignition) wire to the radio and it drops to 0-volt, then something before the radio is eating up the voltage.

I wonder if this wire can turn on a relay? Typically most relay coils work around 200 milli-amps or less.
