93 lexus es300 aftermarket radio install i need help!!! experts help

hi everyone im a newbie and need some help.i just recently bought a 93 lexus es300 without a radio which i wasnt happy about but i figured hey ill buy a radio and throw it in.so i bought a nice panasonic cd mp3 player.the guy i bought the car from had his own system in it amps subs but took it all out so i have an empty dash.i know my lexus had factory amps and stuff like that but im pretty sure he either disconnected that or removed it completely.now how much is this going to affect me when i attempt to install my new head unit.will a simple wire harness for a lexus es300 plug and play right in the factory wires as it should.or will it be a big pain because the amp isnt there anymore.please help guys i needall the help i can get right now ive been driving the car for 2 weeks with no radio and im going nuts please help!!!

It all depends on what the previous owner did to the car. If you are lucky, he used the harness and just ran wires to the dash from his amps. He may have ran new wires straight to the amps, which would complicate things for you. Your head unit should have an internal amp, and you could connect the speakers directly to the head unit. If the previous owner ran wires to wherever the amps were, it may be easier to just buy an amp and run some RCA cables from the head unit.

I hope that made sense and will help you. Maybe if you described what wires you have in the dash, we could help a little more. Pictures also might help.

hi scate thanx for taking the time to help.the only wiring i have in my dash of my 93 es300 is the factory wiring which is 2 white wire harnesses one for the radio ,one for my factory cd changer in the trunk (which i know is useless now) my metal antenna wire and also some metal prod like wire that was taped up so it didnt touch or rub on anything.the guy i bought the car from had some big subs and amps in the trunk and i checked today and he taped off (bypassed i think?)the factory amp under the passenger seat.so i know its not there anymore any and all help i really appreciate i need music in my car im going crazy!!

It sounds like you should be able to hook the factory amp back up and connect your new head unit.
    Here is a harness:

Let us know how it goes.

I had the same problem with my 05 but fortunately they make dash kits and harnesses for them, you should be able to find the kits for your model at the stereo shops or on-line. I was trying to do my 05 but momma wasn't having it. Took too long installing the computer in the truck.

When you say "taped off", do you mean these wires are now disconnected? or are they connected to wires that run to the trunk?

I think you could run speaker wire from the dash to these "taped off" wires, and then connect them to the speaker output on your head unit. That should get it working.

    Well Pete,
I am no expert but it seems your only other option is to hard wire your stuff into the speaker system. Your HU into an after market amp then into the speakers, that is if you want an amp although I recommend it.

You shouldn't need an amp. Your head unit has one.
