    Time for a new card!

    Hi everyone!

So my SB Audigy card went to computer-parts heaven so now I'm stuck with the lousy 2ch built in one and I'm really missing the rest of my speakers!

Since I've had some problems with the PCI card earlier I was thinking of going for USB one and I found a really cheap one from sweex.

It looks nice and the specs isnt that bad, but I've never heard of the brand before and wanted to see if anyone here have tried them before!

btw, I might aswell ask, the problem I'm having suddenly is that whenever I have the PCI card (Audigy) in the pci slot the pc refuses to even boot up, if I remove it it works great! never happened to me before but maybe someone else had the same problem!

Getting crazy since for some reason my built-in card only works with the front speaker sub, if I connect it to the rear one I don't get any sound at all... I know the cable works since I tried it with my Ipod and with that I have sound, and the card is working since if I switch the cable to the front sub I have sound in those speakers...

    Thanks for any responses!

have you tried using a pencil eraser to clean both sides of the contacts on the sound card? sometimes that may help. I saved a stick of ram by doing this.

yes ram and pci cards are really bad when it comes to connections, we use contact cleaner at work and it works, also the pci slots on the motherboard are hardly ever any good try an air duster in thier or some contact cleaner on some card.

Sounds like your using either an M4 or M2 power supply, correct??
I wouldn't be surprised if the ******* thing ate your sound card as well!

If you want a kick-*** soundcard, save up and get the Xonar D2...I run two of 'em!!
    (and upgrade your PSU)
