Thanks, I'm reading the doc now.
Draft design document is available here:

Generally it works with any AiNet device, but you'll need to know what packets you'd like to send and watch for. Basic control functions for H700/H701 (i.e. volume, balance, fader, presets, on/off) are also implemented.
Thanks, I'm reading the doc now.

Dude!!!! Stokedddddddddd yet again you come to goods! Keen as hell for one :-) will PM you
Dear Nik,
Is your item used to connect CarPC with alpine monitor as well?
Can this item enable Alpine monitor to display as computor screen and use a touch screen to control computer like mouse?
Jokekim
My controller could connect CarPC to Alpine monitor via AiNet, but I don't see how it could be beneficial. AiNet is not intended for graphics transfers (it's simply too slow), so you'll have to connect graphics board of the CarPC to monitor's vieo input (which ussually looks pretty badly).
As far as I know Alpine monitors not broadcasting tochscreen inputs to AiNet. In that case touchscreen control interception is uneasy task.
What is the price and is it itegrated into any/all front ends? I do you need the RUX or can I get just the H700/701 and use it that way?
Edit: I did read that there is no need for the RUX but I would still like to know about the front ends and price.
If this unit connect between Alpine iNet unit and can control PC by the HU, I'm sold.

RoadRunner is the best FE PERIOD
EmoRebellion is a SCAMMER
Please note that Alpine HUs not sending plain button presses to AiNet, it's using the AiNet for communication with known external devices like Changers, processors, etc. So you'll have to emulate some device to get the inputs from HU.
My controller could emulate Apline CD-Changer and route all HU inputs for changer (Change disk/track, play/pause, repeat/shuffle) to PC's COM port. If your Car PC could read the inputs from COM port and above mentioned functionality is fine for you, then it could be done.
Estimated price for complete board is $150 USD without shipping. Hope I'll not be banned, as this is still non commercial project. I'll finalizing the firmare now and will publish all schematics and source code shortly.
You will need the RUX to set up the H700/701 as I'm not going to implement every single setting like EQ, TCR and Phase. However after setup you might just store preferred settings in presets and use controller for everyday operations like volume, fader, balance, sub level, input selection, preset switching. RUX could be disconnected at that stage or you could use it simultaneously with controller .
That's to bad because I found some 700/701's without the RUX for $250 but with the RUX they are closer to $500 plus the $150 (not a bad price by the way) makes it a little steep. O well it is the best option for audio I have seen though. Anywaylet me know when they are available so I can look into getting
everything.
Thanks for the info,
Dave
