Alpine AINet CRC solved

Mitch did say he would make me a Sirius translator box with optical out if I wish. I haven't asked yet because I need to figure out how to get the sources from the PC and from Sirius box to work smoothly.
For example, if the new board from this thread can control input selection on the H701 from a button in CF, thats great but one instance of an issue would be voice prompts from NAV:
Can the board be programmed to switch sources on the H701 to announce a turn in NAV when audio is called for from the NAV program then back to the Sirius box?

Does the H701 respond that fast to source switching?

I have not had an opportunity to investigate any of this yet but I sure like the idea of getting the Sirius box off of a 3.5mm line-in on my sound card!

Also, Alpine recommends after tuning the system that all volume adjustments are made from the Alpine controller, do not touch the source output level. This makes sense, why turn down the pre out voltage and introduce more s/n?

So my question is can a plugin be written and will someone else do it (because I am dumber than a bag of hammers when it comes to code) to allow volume control through CF to control this boards volume (which duplicates the controller) without messing with the Windows mixer volume levels?
That would mean when I turn up my Griffin Powermate, I am actually not touching wiindows volume but rather the controller volume for the H701.

If all of the above can be achieved, I will be ordering one of these boards but not until the plugins are availaible to use it. I just don't have the knowledge to create them.

You could connect analugue audio output to one of the reserved input lines and modify firmware so it would switch the inputs as soon as it will detect signal. You'll just need to ensure that audio signal voltage will not exceed 5V (i.e. add some external protection logic).

H701 respond quite fast on the source switching.

CF plugins are out of my scope, sorry. Hope someone will create it for community.

I'm not sure the audio from nav can be separated from the balance of the audio from the pc. So this solution might work if the Sirius adapter was ran ran directly to an input on the 701 but I doubt it would work while playing audio from the pc.

Will respect to the plugin, I didn't mean specifically you though. There are some of the guys on here that create plugins for CF. I am willing to pay and I would think others out there going to the trouble of using this board would want it to behave the same way. The 700/701 is all about SQ so I would expect everyone using this board would want to benefit from better s/n ratio by using that plugin.

I got few production boards last Friday. This week I'm going to finalize the firmware and publish it. Boards are ready for shipping already.
First one will go to Colin (viper_1), hope he'll share his experience here.

P. S. H701 equipped with pretty good DSP (basically the same as H900), but it's suffer from cheap PCM1608 DAC with poor output stages. You won't believe how much better it could play after complex tweak with DAC replaced to set of PCM1794 with very high quality output.

Sure thing, it's a separate board installed inside H701 case between two mainboards.

Here's a post from another forum. Based on this prognosis, I think I will love it the way it is or replace it later. The cabin space in my truck is not even close to acoustically worthy of more than a 700/701...yet anyways.
