    Another late subscriber here.

Tony, I think you jumped in on the intravee forum. I only just found this thread because the thread on intravention was closed. Simon was kind enough to post there was progress made over here.

For all others, I'm also a PXA-H701 user that would love to control the processor from the PC.
With the info given in Viper_1's pdf, I would be able to find the PXA-H701 commands (I do have a logic analyzer available). The trouble is, i don't have an Alpine HU. I only have the RUX-C701 to control it and this interfaces directly to the PXA, not over AI-net.

I was at the point of hacking the RUX and controlling volume and presets that way, but it might be better to invest time in controlling it over an interface now the info here is abailable. Only, I don't feel like buying a HU only to hack the commands for the PXA. Dilemma...

So, any progress? Is cooperation in an way possible? Please let me know. BTW, I'm from Belgium.

    Cheers, Marc

PS. has anyone heard from Viper_1, recently, because

Did the Alpine corporate attack lawyers unleash their fury on a couple hobbyists? This project would have made buying an Alpine HU to control a CarPC a good choice for someone wanting a less theft prone front end than a big LCD in the dash. Apparently Alpine HUs will not be an option, I will have to buy other products to accomplish my goals.

Together with my friend I developing AiNet device to control PXA-H701 remotely without RUX. Main target is remote volume control, other settings might be implemented later.
Progress is good so far, we reading the bus, tracking the packets and found out the messages responsible for volume control. Seems like H701 accepting over AiNet volume levels from 1 (maximum, 35 on HU) to 153 (zero volume), so volume granularity could be much smaller than available from RUX and Alpine HU.
We can't send the packets to AiNet yet but hoping to fix it shortly.
Hope this project might be valuable for community. I could keep post the updates if it's still needed to anyone.

    Great news.

Any chance you will be releasing source code for this and, if not, how will it interface? I'd love UART, because i'd like to build my own interface that works with a rotary encoder and gives feedback to the car-pc.

    Cheers, Marc

Good work. It's nice to see someone else working on the AiNet.
I have not been working much on this project lately due to some more pressing and serious problems.

I have now pretty much decoded the AiNet commands for the HU and CDC, and also for the Jaguar premium amplifier, which has a DSP section which I suspect is similar to the PXA-701,
(which is why the above post interested me) and various versions of the CDC emulator have been have been working quite well, I have also been able to control an Alpine CDC from a Jaguar HU, and also been able to attach an KCA-420i to the Jaguar system.

Hope to post some more soon.

    Cheers,
    Colin.
