    "Overhead" pocket...

1 Din recievers in a 2 din slot need a "pocket"...

All that I can find is a pocket that has the "compartment" below the reciever...

I have an LCD display that pops out, and up, which would cover that anyways...is there any way to buy a pocket with the compartment above...

    thanks...

I installed a stereo recently.. can't remember what car it was... But it looked like the trim could be reversed so the compartment was on top. I have noticed, however, that a lot of installation kits with the compartment is that the stereo may use it as support. So, no compartment, no up/down support for the stereo.

What kind of car was it? Did the factory radio screw into metal side mounts called "iso mounting"? Most asian cars are like this.

If so, the radio should also screw into top or bottom and then fill the remaining slot by attaching/screwing in a "universal DIN pocket" the same way.

hey guys...thanks for the quick reply...

It is a 2003 xterra, and the stock radio had 2 little flap things that screwed in parallel with the dash...

I tried flipping up upside down, with the compartment on the top, but the flaps would not mount that way...

I think that I am going to go to walmart and buy another pocket, (cause they are like 15 bucks) and mod the hell out of it until it will fit...
