Chances are plugging it into the mains has blown something which is now causing a short.
I have aquired a panasonic cq-dp133u for free as my friend is not the sharpest tool in the box and pluged it into a wall socket. so i figured free deck if i can fix it. but ive ran into a problem not knowing what the solution could be. thats why i am resorting to you, my fellow audio enthusiasts.
why does the fuse on the back of the deck always blow as soon as you connect it to the cars power?

I have taken it apart and have looked over the circuit board very thoroughly and none of the transistors, solder points, wirering, chips, anything are burnt out or fried that could cause a short it is very odd.
yeah mains AC voltage into a 12V DC device usually = rubbish bin
open it up and see if anything inside looks cooked, some units have a sacrificial diode or something inside which will melt before the rest of the unit does.
