Renault Clio Update list Stereo Unit... HELP!

    Hi guys n'gals!
This is my first post so.... hello!

Right. I have a Renault Clio 5 door expression 53 plate. It came with a Tuner List stereo which worked fine. I wanted to upgrade so that I could have an AUX input for my ipod so I bought an 'Update List' stereo (which I fitted today). When I switch the ignition on the stereo lights up but I can not turn it on, if I press the eject button or the number '5' button it makes a loud BEEP... nothing comes up on the display.
What does this mean? Is the unit broken???

    HELP!

    Thanks in advance!

This forum is dedicated to CarPCs and installing them in your car.

The car audio forum is dedicated to integrating your car audio system with your CarPC.

For specific questions related to car audio equipment systems that do not include CarPCs, I would recomend checking out car audio specific forums:

    http://www.elitecaraudio.com
    http://www.carsound.com
    http://www.caraudioforum.com
    http://forum.sounddomain.com

    http://www.diymobileaudio.com
    http://www.soundsolutionsaudio.com
    http://www.dynamicautoacoustics.com
    et. al.

There is a chance that someone on here might have an answer for you, I would just hate for you to wait around for it when I know you could get an answer much quicker on a dedicated forum.

    Good luck.

First, the beep means that you need to enter the radio's code.
Second, the interface for the remote stalk and display is different between Tuner List and Update List.

You're better off getting a third party head unit, to be honest. There are some brands out there that offer their own interfaces for Renault stalks, like Alpine and Pioneer.
Otherwise, companies like Autoleads and Connects2 offer interface modules for connecting Renault display/stalks to head units like Kenwood and Sony.
