Hey everyone,
I just had my Alpine iDA-X200 installed in my ford escort. The right front speaker is blown, probably because it is old, and cant handle the power of my new stereo. I was wondering what a good set of speakers to outfit my car is. I have been looking at the Alpine S-series cause they are a decent price and i would like match it with my Alpine stereo. Im not looking for crazy brown note bass frequency. just something to upgrade from my stock speakers, that is listenable and can be cranked a little for some rocking out fun.
thanks!

Agree with soundman.
Also consider that most of the expensive speakers you will see will handle tons more power than your headunit will put out. If you never plan on amping your speakers, don't get duped into thinking you need 100wrms alpine components or something.
i think that most alpine speakers are harsh, bland in the midrange, and the tweeters are to tinny on the top end... but don't take my word for it... speaker preferance too easily turns into a ****ing match, which is why i did not make any suggestions--everyone has different tastes in music, and it is up to you to find what you like the best-- the reason for going into a car audio store with a cd of Your favorite music.
the 'best' speakers are relative--and only you know what is best for your ears...
okay thanks guys.
im not really too picky on the tone of speakers. i am a bassist, but im not a tone whore haha.
i guess im just gonna look for an affordable upgrade to my stock speakers.
