Is there any way to hook up a computer to a car stereo head unit?
For example, I have a Pioneer Head Unit with a USB for direct control of my iPod Touch. It hooks up to your iPod and allows you to browse through your library via Head Unit controls. It then takes the files you want and digitally transfers the songs to the head unit for playback.
Here is my theory. There has to be a way to hook up your head unit to the computer. You press next track on the head unit, and it changes the track on the computer, and plays it through the head unit. You should be able to get ahold of the codes used, and use them to control the computer. Develop a software that translates the comands from the head unit into commands that the FE can recognize.
Is there a way?
