you might need to run new wire from all the speakers-- i know really old decks combine all of the speakers negative leads, but new decks cannot do this..
I have a hi-lo converter with 5 wires:
+/- Left
+/- Right
Ground
The stereo has 4 wires
12V+
Ground
Left+
Right+
How the hell do I wire those together?
I tried twisting together both grounds together with the L/R- on the hi-lo together but that didn't work.
Thanks,
Kenny

The deck has a common grounding, so you should be able to use that ground wire as if each speaker had its own negative.
I'm not sure you need to do anything with the 12v line. Have you traced it? Where does it go? Is it used?
I tapped the ground for the unit it was plugging into and that seems to have fixed it.
Thanks guys
