    2 Din Car mp3/dvd player?

I have been searching for some current 2 Din units that cost from 300-600$ us.
I need a unit that has these feature.
    DVD/mp3.
    DVD/XVID/AVI/WMA/JPEG video Playback
USB (Perfered from the back. Since having a USB stick sticking out is not that nice)
    SDHC
    sirius radio support
    Touch Screen
    Bluetooth
    TV Tuner (Maybe)

I have used the Innovatek 7+ years ago when they were the only ones with mp3 on DVD.. (For some reason that was hard to find)

Today I have the JVC KW-AVX706 and it's not working very good not that it's 4 years old.

    What should I get??

Being as this is a carputer website... you should go the carputer route of course!

You should get a carputer...but if you insist on a double din i would recommend the pioneer avic f900bt or avic f90bt. Those two units have everything you wanted plus navigation and are currently available for below $600.

Ok my suggestion to you would be to bypass the Pioneer avic units. Reason, they have several issues, And before anyone jumps in to comment, I have had the Avic f90t had to replace it 2 times for problems so I sold the 3rd unit and purchased a Kenwood ddx812 and it has been an excellent unit.

I also have the Avic f900 which is in my wifes car which she complains about everyday I might ad she hates it,(she will have to live with it until the economy gets better) it has been replaced once. for my daughters car I took no chances and I went with the Pioneer dnx5120 she loves it and it has had no problems.

I would for you suggest their newest unit the Kenwood dnx5140 it has most of the features you require not sure about tv but you can get one for any where between $500 and $600 online.

I also reccomend the Kenwoods because with the Avics they are murder to bypass the vidoe in motion feature not so with the Kenwoods just ground the parking brake wire and your done not with the Avics you have to tamper with the radios harness you have to gently pull a wire out and gently place it in another slot I myself had to by 3 new harnesses because taking these wires out if not done carfully enough can break them and you have to replace the whole harness so I had to take it to a shop for them to do it at $60 dollars a pop which was $180 when I took my Avic out of my car and replaced it with the Kenwood I did it myself no problem. So yes get the Kenwood dnx5140 and stay away from any Avic units.

just curious, what kind of problems have you had? overall, my experience with pioneer products has been good. and tampering with the video wire could be considered illegal--it was there for a reason...

The problems were with the interface and the navigation interface. and yes I am aware of the reason the wires are there for but if you have a passenger they cant access the video features because your up front.

The problem with the Pioneer Avic units are vast the units took years to boot up it was worst than having a pc in the car these units run windows ce but boot like they are running a full windows desktop version bad had problems with album art the units I had to return were returned becasue the units had locked up 1 unit just went dead altogether.

The navigation uses Igo8 which for the us is ok but for me not good I prefer Garmin there is always a new map update with the Avic units you get a map update available once a year. road changes are frequent here in Maryland.

The Avic units have had problems infterfacing with the Iphone i have a house full of Iphones so that was a problem.

So all in all my experience and opinion with 2 different Pioneer models were not good. But in contrast my exerience with the Kenwood unit I have has been great most of my friends have the kenwood units some came from the Avic units after they had similar problems.

The pioneer units are not difficult to bypass it is at most a 5 minute job with the wiring harnesses. And also the majority of the problems you have probably experienced have been fixed in firmware 3.0 which includes a windows CE update to improve boot up time and touch screen response. I have had a few small problems here and there which have been easily solved by reformatting the flash drive and reinstalling windows CE followed by the pioneer firmware. I mainly suggested the unit due to all the customization that is possible through hacking since this is a car pc website.

I believe the kenwood 5140 would be a nice "set it and forget it unit" but does not include bluetooth.
