Anyone add sub to factory Dodge infinity system?

So this is NOT a question of whether I can add a aftermarket sub to a factory system I understand that is possible however what I am trying to learn is the following.

The 2005 dodge Ram with Infinity sound has 7 speakers using the lower front doors as the subs (does a decent job actually) but in the SRT-10 version of the Ram there was an additional amp that plugged into the wire harness and ran back to the rear seat where there was a sub.

What my question is whether or not there is a way to interface into that so that the stock amp is doing all of the crossover work or if it is better just to do a mono amp?

I have a factory sub for a Town and Country that is more than what I need so I just do not need a ton of power on it just enough to add a little kick.

    Thanks for the ideas.

Just put a line out converter after the factory amp or at the speakers. then from the loc run your rcas to your sub amp. Thats the easiest and most efficient way to do it when working with any factory amplified system.

thank you for the input, so here are a few questions going down that road...

If I connect to the speakers the crossover in the amp is managing the speaker selection so would I then be tapping into the front door speakers that are now getting the bass? If I do that how do I control the bass to the sub vs. the door speakers as the idea is to unload most of the bass from them to the sub.

Now I am using RCA inputs from the PC to the factory amp would I be better off splitting the signal there so that the sub amp is getting the entire signal and can do its own crossover etc?

Sorry for the questions I am just not quite sure how to do this and make it sound good.

yes, it would be easiest to connect to the rca's before the signal goes into the factory amp.

but to reduce the amount of bass to teh front speakers, you would need to add a crossover before the factory amp, otherwise, the speakers will still be getting the same amount of bass.

I guess I will have to play with it once installed because I had though maybe just lowering the bass down would be enough for the factory system and turn up the gain on the sub to take over most of it. Again I am not looking to shake Seattle just add some thump instead of a bump... Thanks again for your help.
