    4-Channel Amp Question

Hey guys i know this is a really basic question but i'm getting split stories from everywhere i ask and i need a definite answer.

    I have 4 Kicker 08KS6930 KS-Series 6-Inch x 9-Inch 152mm X 229mm 3-Way Speakers

They run at 100 Watts RMS at a 4 ohm impedance.

I also have a 4 channel amp (Which claims to power all 4 speakers in your car) and states it runs at 90 x 4 watts rms at a 2 ohm impedance. I asked the crutchfield advisors and they said it would not work, it would only work at 4 ohms. But at 4 ohms it only runs 175 x 2 How is that possible that i would need 2 four channel amps to power my front and rear speakers? That didn't seem logical so i read some more and found people saying they hooked up the amp to 4 speakers and after looking at the speakers it stated they ran at 4 ohms. So you see my confusion? I would greatly appreciate it if you could answer this question for me.

Will the Kicker 08ZX3504 amp power the 4 speakers stated above?

Thank you so very much for your replys

    4-channel car amplifier
    60 watts RMS x 4 at 4 ohms (90 watts RMS x 4 at 2 ohms)
175 watts RMS x 2 in bridged mode (4-ohm stable in bridged mode)
    2-, 3-, or 4-channel output
variable high- and low-pass filters (50-200 Hz, 12 dB per octave)
variable bass boost (0-18 dB at 40 Hz)
    top-mounted controls
    CEA-2006 compliant
preamp and speaker-level inputs (speaker-level input requires an optional adapter)
    fuse rating: 20A x 2
8-gauge power and ground leads recommended — wiring and hardware not included with amplifier
    13-1/2"W x 2-3/16"H x 9-5/8"D
    warranty: 2 years

A quick google search of your amp says yes, you'll have 60 watts per at 4 ohms

i used to think that crutchfiled was a great place with knowledgeable associates for everyone to start messing with car audio-- though i am really starting to doubt this after some of these complaints...

We don't really know what the OP asked/told Crutchfield; they may not have known what specific amp it was or were told something confusing (e.g., "hey man my amp can only do 175 watt x 2 channel at 4 ohm... will this power my four speakers?"). They're an authorized dealer for all their stuff so I tend to give them the benefit of the doubt. <shrug>
