hooking up speakers with no head unit, using pc

i've been looking into the carputer and getting stuck on how to hook up the speakers to it. I would be replacing the head unit with the monitor and looking to run centrafuse. i would like to keep control of balance and fade if possible. any suggestions? on top of that here is how my oem system is hooked up:

You need an amplifier. There's no way to connect your car's speakers directly the computer.

getting balance is easy-- windows usually includes that in the sound settings-- though i can't seem to find it on my win7 laptop..

fade-- i have not seen any reliable solutions to get this to work.. though there are work-arounds using specific external eq's.

Buy a good quality amplifier, like a JL Audio, and you will have an accessory cable that you install in the front so you can keep control over the audio levels for each channel.

would it be possible to take apart the head unit and use the amp from it and rewire the input to be the computer rather than the fm or cd?

Hi Chris. You don't really want to start doing that. As kegobeer suggested an amp would be the best solution. However you could probly use an FM Modulator or one of those tapes (not sure what they called) to connect your pc up to your existing head unit. Would probably be the quickest and cheapest way, but not the best.
