Alpine did revamp their entire PDX line with the exception of the PDX5. The PDX-F4 and PDX-F6 both now have 2 separate stages of sound processing before any sound ever leaves the amp. Their actual test specs are much higher than the JL Audio HD series amplifiers. I run 2 F4's and an M6 in my car. The only amp I have ever owned that may have been cleaner was a McIntosh MCC404. But Macs never really had much in the balls department. Alpine is the way to go.
Not sure if you ever chose an amp yet. I finally got the small cheapo amps from china. Another couple weeks and I should be able to test them. Pictures included so you can see them and the approx. size of them. The area is in the back of a rav4 (probably about 1ft wide, little less high).
