The closer to recommended power of sub the better get a sub that matches the power and impedance of the sub
OK, I understand it guys. So say a soeaker has 80RMS, rather then get an amp that can say do 70RMS, i should get one that does 100RMS and simply adjus it down. As far as the speaker, I can face it up with no concerns.

What amp do u have?
Well I sell arc and re audio if u have a brand preference, let me know budget and brand and I can put it together and let u know what to buy
I basically want my install to be a 7.1 surround sound setting. Technically the car will have 9 speakers. 1 center, 1 for phone, 6 in the doors and third row, and 1 sub.
Placement for all the speakers was fairly easy for all except one. The center speaker is turning out to be a pain. I originally wanted to put it in dash top, but I have a screen there and it didnt look right next to each other. I then decided to put it in the center console under the two screens, but turns out I have no room.
Is there something else I can do to get the center channel? Maybe use two small speakers, put one on the left and right of the dash? Maybe even use small speakers in the front doors?
I would use a phantom center, but the sound card was not designed with that option.
PS: i can also place small speakers in the console, like maybe to the left and right of the screens, but then again, how do I connect them? Like say the AMP is 80rms per channel, Can I get two small speakers that are rated at 40RMS but both run off the 80RMS channel? Can I use tweeters, since center is mainly for voice? My understanding is that all tweeters ar for.

The Load that an amplifier is designed drive into can not usually be changed. You can change the impedance of a speaker system with impedance matching transformers, but they usually don't get along with Solid State amplifiers that well. The best way is to buy the right stuff the 1st time and plan your system.
OK, will do that...... I have 2 speakers that are rated at 100RMS, but the doors are all getting speakers that are rated at 80RMS. So I should sell the 100RMS and also buy 80RMS to replace them?
Whip, you have any thoughts on my center speaker question?

My only concern is the 7.1... They don't really do that anymore, we do have an amp that has a "center" on it would be perfect for ur situation, what head unit? Does it have center out?
The amp I speak of is the ks900.6 by arc audio. It will do all 4 interiors a center and a small sub. You need a center out put from the source. That amp comes with a three year warranty from the manufacturer
