You want your center channel to be where you would like the persons voice talking in the movie to be.

And dschmittler, I too have a Car Audio store but I am not trying to sell anything here just try and help a few out.

That was bothering me. The issue is the size of the speakers. My idea was to have the speakers on the sides of the screens, but the issue is I need small speakers and I do not know what to go with, or the smallest size I can get.

LOL, Its cool, hey maybe both of you can get me pricing on amps. I wanted to go with a two 4 channel amp setup. Four channels for the door speakers. Then 4 channels for 2 rear speakers, center channel, then phone speaker. A third amp will be for sub. I dont car about the size of the amps, since I have lots of room, now that I am going with a shallow mount sub. I have the room for larger amps.

Now here is were I throw another wrench into the install. The rear speakers. They were originally going to on the side panels in the rear. The seats back there fold down and the speakers keep the seat from going down normally. Now though i am using the whole trunk so I can place the speakers back there. which I think is better for 7.1 staging. Can you tell me if this illustration is correct. Also including a redo of the console.

The gray area for the rear area is the seats in up position. Do you think this work?

it would be best to have only one center channel speaker. i only recommended the 2 due to the lower placement to help distribute the sound. if you are ok with mounting them within the screen bezel, you could use one for center channel, and one for phone, or keep the phone on the side, and mount a single speaker in the middle of the screens for the center channel..

as for the rear, that layout looks good. now you just need to figure out what amps you are going to use!!

If I put the center in the middle, then the screen alignment is all messed up. The screen would end up being blocked by my steering wheel. I do not see how people get so into modding, I'm ready to drive my truck off a bridge, lol. If I do decide to go with a dual center speaker, it will work right? Basically I wanted to get 2 small 4 inch speakers, which should fit nicely. Other then that, I'm out of room to place the speakers any place else.

The speakers are going to lay flat now, I had them angled up because I thought I didnt have room, but I have tons.

if it works space/looks-wise for you, then go with it.

just making more recommendations to see if you ever finish the 'project' (is it still a project when it has taken this much time?)
