I have a rockford fosgate p200-2 channel amp http://www.rockfordfosgate.com/produ...7&locale=en_us and was running a kicker cvr124 http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-07CVR124.html bridged but i recently blew it after about a year of use, so i was wondering what kind of sub i should get now as far as ohms and wattage are concerned and i will be running the amp bridged. please and thank you
That amp is only 4 ohm stable when bridged so you should use a 4 ohm sub capable of 200 watts. I would suggest you look at something like the JL 12W0v3-4 if you want to match to that amp the best. Look at the JL 12W3v3-4 if you want headroom to upgrade the amp later. The trade off is it will be running below it's peak operating range with your current amp.
i would use a kicker comp, the vr rms power is 400. that sub is a dual 4 sub which equals either a 1 or 8 ohm impedance. the sweet spot on that amp is a 4 ohm load. the kicker comp is 150 watts rms and that is at 4 ohms.http://kicker.com/comp i sell that sub at $79.00 or if you want a damn near perfect match the arc audio ks12 http://www.arcaudio.com/productdescr...eries/ks12.asp .i also sell this one at $79.00. i was a jl audio dealer for years, we replaced them with higher quality for a better price to the customer. we have re audio thats a little above the performance that that amp will allow, but our new sub that is along the lines of a jl 12w7 is an re audio SXX which 1000 watts rms to the w7's 750 and 399 with a four year warranty to the w7's 650 or so price and one year warranty, feel free to hit me up if u have any questions
^how do you get 1 ohm out of a single 4 ohm dvc sub? don't you mean 2 ohms?
i think a sub like the kicker comp @ 150w rms is going to be the best bet for power efficiency.
