    Which Amp?

I've recently installed 2 Ripspeed 6 X 9's in my car, specs as follow:

    Max Power: 120
    RMS Power: 60
    Speaker size: 6 x 9 (15cm x 23cm)
    Type: 3 Way
    Frequency Response: 40 - 22,000Hz
    Sensitivity: 1w/m 90db, 2.83v/m 96db
    Impedance: 4 Ohms

I'm looking to amplify them as they are very underpowered from my current head unit set up. I'm looking at two amps within my price range (I wouldn't really want to spend more than 50)
    The first is a FLI FL450s, 2 channel, 450W max, 2 X 100w RMS at 4 Ohms.

The second is a Mutant MT1202:

    Number of channels: 2 Channel
    Frequency Response: 20-20000Hz
    Bass Boost: 0-+18dB
High Pass Filter / Crossover: 40-Hz-600Hz
    Load Impedance capability: 2 Ohm
Low Pass Filter / Crossover: 40-Hz-600Hz
    Max Power: 2x95w
    RMS Power: 2x60w

Which would you guys recommend out of the two? Or should I be looking at a different amp all together? At the moment I would buy the mutant, the only problem I see is that the over all wattage is 2 X 95, where as the speakers are 2 X 120?
    Any help much appreciated!

out of the 2 that you posted, get the second one.

always compare the RMS rating of equipment-- it is the number that is the harder to fake. the max wattage ratings are easy for amp makers to mess with because there are so many variables involved.

I agree about RMS. In fact RMS should not be faked as in manipulated - to do that is plain lie.
RMS is RMS and it is long-term - not short bursts.

Music Power should be "peak" power which is double the RMS value. ("Peak Power" is always twice RMS power for sinusoids - that's a basic mathematical relationship.)

But many use some vague definition of "peak" which they define - eg, "(for a thin rectangular pulse our amp can output a peak that is 7x RMS power hence:) 100W RMS; 700W peak", or "if measured for 1uS and stretched out to 50uS (20kHz), it's the equivalent of 700W etc. Those peaks are totally useless for any end user, they merely serve to fool some buyers...

    Thanks for the quick replies,
I'm seriously considering the second one. So I'm not to worry about the 2 X 90w power then - This wont effect my speakers?
