Someone please help me with my double din i have a simple question (so it seems)

hey guys i am new to this website, i made an account because i need some help!

i have a 1998 Cadillac Eldorado and id like have my double DIN head unit installed that used to be in my 1995 Eldorado. Now believe it or not the head unit is very different in both models.

the dimensions of my Double DIN are 9.8 x 9.5 x 6.8 inches and it is a BOYO AVD701 7-inch touch screen. (just in case you must know)

i am not familiar with how to install radios or any of that but before i go somewhere to get it put in i just want to know if it will fit.

any help and "dumbed down" information is much appreciated!

Well, not that im familliar with your particular vehicle/s.But double din head units are universal in dimensions, and the same goes for single din units. The only difference may be the depth but that should be unlikely. I have installed many, many head units and only came across one that was slightly different in depth. Standby for more replies from other members who may shed more light on your situation.

The 9.5 x 9.5 x 6.8 unit is not double-DIN. It would help to know which is length, width and depth.

DIN & double-DIN are standard sizes, also known as ISO 7736.
The US standard for a DIN radio is 2" x 7" and the Double DIN sized radio is a 4" x 7".

i measured it myself and LxWxH is roughly 6.5x7x4 (inches)

The whole length including the screen part is 7.5inches but i think only 6.5 inches goes into my dashboard

There was a period (mostly in the 90's I think) where GM vehicles mostly had din and a half. Best buy (and all others of course) carried specific "GM" size head units. I remember my 96 sunfire had 2 kits offered, one with a din hole and TINY pocket or one with the hole centered.
