any more on this? now looking into how to get audio to my cars amps. debating between a usb sound card and the ai net controller that is talked about on the forum here. just trying to not run a deck as a head unit and go directly from pc to amp via optical, or ai net control. or go usb sound card to the amp with no deck or preamp.
I received my diamond xtreme USB (XS71U) today. I ripped my car apart, hooked it in and installed the driver. Seems to be better than the old sound blaster card as for volume. The immediate issue I see is the thing puts out incredibly loud pops when the computer resumes from standby. Not happy about that. I'm not sure if I should try something else, go back or try to delay the power on of my amps :(
I would just delay the amps if I was you. Not difficult to do.
Yeah, I'm thinking I may just wire a new line from my arduino to turn amps on and off. Then I can control it by code and other stuff instead of just a 555 or something. Might wait for a rainy weekend or something.
