CarPC and HD Radio integration question

I'm still in the middle of my build... I just ordered the last pieces for my PC, then I just need to work on integrating the audio into my car.

I'll be bypassing my factory amp and will just go with a 4-channel aftermarket amp... nothing special.

But I also wanted to integrate this http://www.mo-co-so.com/Directed-DMH...cs-dir-hdr.htm so I still have a radio option.

I'm just not 100% sure on how to wire everything up...

Whatever 4-channel amp I choose will obviously have a audio IN, and that should obviously come from the source, which is the carPC, right?

So if I wanted to also integrate the radio receiver I linked above, I can just use an equalizer like this, right?

So my audio OUT from my PC will plug into the MAIN IN on the equalizer above, then I can plug the radio receiver into the AUX IN... is this right?
And from what I understand, Centrafuse (which I will be running), can control the receiver (radio stations and whatnot)... but when I select the radio on option from Centrafuse, how will it know to switch to the AUX IN on the equalizer?

The easy answer is it wont know. You'll have to design a circuit to handle it automatically. Instead, you can use the line-in on your PC. Connect that to your radio and centrafuse will control it automatically.

If your computer doesnt have a line-in (blue audio port), then you can check with mitchjs on the board and see if he has any usb line-ins left, or buy a cheap external soundcard with line-in support.

Hmmm... interesting. That sounds good enough for me. I looked up the mobo I just ordered and it doesn't specifically say it has a line-in, but there is a blue port, so that's good news.
The other good news is I won't have to buy an equalizer now.

Just an FYI:

You might want to rethink about using the Directed HD unit. Someone here used it and hated it. I asked the question in this thread, his answer made me change my mind.

Thanks for the heads up...

I can really live without the radio, it's not that important to me... well FM anyway. Just like the dude who posted that review, I mostly listen to pandora in my car. But a few times a week I like to listen to AM.

I agree with his answer. The DirectedHD works GREAT inside the city, if you're within 30 miles of the HD station. Further than that? It'll constantly fade in and out of HD, causing it to sound like it's skipping, and the sound quality flipping between bad and good. There is no way to lock it out of HD mode so it only does standard radio, you're forced to either find a station without HD, or life with the very bad quality flipping.
